Twilight kept looking at Kaylee, with some frustration, before she hung her head in defeat. She spoke softer then, hoping to get through better.
"This was not your fault... Aren't we the same in this situation? This wasn't your fault, Kaylee... I know it..." A drop falls on the railing she was holding onto. "Don't think you're the only one feeling guilty..."

Moon nodded "Of course you can have it. It was a gift given to me by my mother. I never really used it, it wasn't the right instrument for me. And I have a cello anyway." She smiled "And, well, it reminds me of my mother."

(Radiance)
Radiance exited the building and without a word to anyone stuffed his hands into his pockets and walked down the street.

As he made his way a girl, with very long almost white blonde hair and wearing a flight jacket, walked passed Radiance.

"Good luck detective." her only words as there path's briefly crossed.

(Naomi)
"Good luck detective..."

Naomi wasn't sure why she had said what she did when passed Radiance, but it still felt better than simply silence. The mare's path took her back to the building where the trial had taken place. She took a moment to study the crowd.

Rains eyes gloss along the volenteers, a smile spread across her cheeks, "Lets get these guys warmed up~" she smiles at Harle, "STEP UP BOYS!" she calls out.

Meanwhile

A pretty batpony mare works her way around her Fruit farm far from the city and more twards where sunlight is more common, bright lights beat down on her trees like sunlight, the fruit that was growing on these trees were apples. Her eyes slowly move to the darker side of her orcherd where she grew nyx specific fruits and such. A soft smile spreads across her cheeks, her fangs poking out onto her bottom lip a little she reaches up and pulls a bright red apple from her tree she chuckles, "its going to be a fantastic harvest~" she purrs and takes a bite, gleefully eating thr fruit.

Digital Waltz

//Opening soundtrack:

(Twilight Sparkle)

The events following your brief conversation went by quicker than desired.

Kaylee calmed down a bit, the trial resumed and after some hesitation, Noel expressed her intent of dropping the charges.
The judge read the verdict 'Not Guilty' and the court was adjourned.

Mere moments after, a long delegation of Union Navy had arrived and scooped up Kaylee, before you could exchange two words to each other. Before she was escorted out of sight and driven away by a Union convoy, you briefly exchanged glances.

She was smiling to you, nodding in gratitude.

After that, you haven't seen each other for a very long time.

After the Navy brass scooped her up, Kaylee completely vanished from public eye. Somewhere in the following months, you received a few very brief calls from her.
She only had time to say that she was alright and that she was doing something classified for the Union Navy. She kept expressing how much she wanted to see you again, and kicked herself around for not being able to meet.

In those months, a new character suddenly entered your life.

Andrew Hawkins, one of the youngest members of the Equestrian political cabinet and in the world really. Smart, diligent, loyal.
Andrew just showed up one day and kind of never left. Usually hanging around the Canterlot political cabinet building, he expressed an immense and undying support to your political views and mainly, supported the idea of Equestria leaving the Union.

Helpful, intelligent, he usually knew when to speak his mind and when to keep quiet.

Andrew did his best to help you catch up with the latest political changes, news and developments, as you traveled over Equestria.

It was November 3rd, 2035, during one of the evenings you spent at a luxurious hotel in the Crystal Empire, that something odd happened.

As you returned to your hotel room and checked your purse, you unexpectedly found an unknown envelope there.

It wasn't yours.
You don't remember ever putting it there, or receiving it from anyone. It just 'appeared'.

The envelope was white and featureless, except the hastily written words on its back.
The words said:

"READ ME. YOUR EYES ONLY"

The word 'Only' was underlined several dozen times.

(Moon Dusts)

You spent the rest of the day together with Johan, as he exchanged stories and tried to joke about life. Somewhere at the evening, he shyly apologized, saying it was his time to leave.
He thanked you over and over, for the violin and promised to cherish it, keeping it with the out most care.

Then, he waved goodbye and promised to visit again when he's able, before he boarded the dark car outside and it drove him away somewhere, into the distance.

The following months flew by in relative peace and the regular day to day life started becoming routine again. Work in the shop, stacking books, drinking beer. An occasional trip in the evening, separating the nobles from their valuables and selling it on the black market. A visit to the tiny cottage in the Everfree Forest.

Life seemed to become normal and peaceful again. Until one cloudy day of November 3rd, 2035.

Early morning, you were on your way to the shop, passing through the Canterlot market, when someone accidentally bumped into you in the crowd. The man promptly apologized and faded into the crowd again.

Everything seemed fine, until you reached your shop and checked your pockets.

Something was there. Something that wasn't there before.

As you stick your hand into one of your pockets, you unexpectedly pull out a featureless envelope.

It wasn't yours.
You don't remember ever putting it there, or receiving it from anyone. It just 'appeared'. Or rather, the man that bumped into your by accident, may have placed it there.

The envelope was white and featureless, except the hastily written words on its back.
The words said:

"READ ME. YOUR EYES ONLY"

The word 'Only' was underlined several dozen times.

It was one of those rainy November days in Adelheid, when you walked into the cafe again and got ready for work.
The calendar on the wall read 'November 3rd, 2035'

As the early morning customers started to slowly pour in, complaining about the rain and mumbling their first requests for a coffee, your cellphone suddenly rang. A text message ringtone.

As you reach into your pocket, you suddenly realize it was 'that' phone. The phone your agency specifically calls in emergencies.

As you look at the text message however, you notice that it wasn't sent from your usual handler. Instead, the screen read the following:

-Sent from: Hidden Number.

-Agent. Your presence is required.
-06:00
-7th November
-Adelheid
-The square outside of the Union Council Building.
-Tell no one
-Secrecy is key
-If you are discovered, lives will be in danger

-Don't be late.

(Naomi)

Clouds were gathering over Adelheid, as you entered the mechanic shop, at the military base where you worked.
One of your coworker started with his usual complaining about long work hours and the desire to skip work and head back to to his wife, when your cellphone emitted a small ringtone.

A text message.

As you looked at the screen and read the contents, you saw the following:

-Sent from: Hidden Number.

-Your most important wish will be granted.
-If you have the courage to follow through.
-7th November
-Adelheid
-Outside the Union Council building
-06:00
-You still want to be a pilot, don't you
-We can help
-If you're interested

(Violet Night)

It was one of those rare days in November, when sunlight finally set over Nyx.

The sun slowly rose over the horizon, its bright rays of light, reflected over the leaves of the countless trees in your farm.

As you slowly move into the fields and breath in the mornings fresh air, you notice one of your neighbors cheerfully wave you from across the road and rapidly approach your position.

"Haaaaaai!" the girl cheerfully waved her hand. Before you could respond, she broke into a endless sea of words:

"So listen there's this new special program from the Union, that lets citizens of Nyx and Soren exchange valuable data on agriculture and environment friendly power and all kinds of stuff! Its all sponsored by donations from across the world and it actually allows citizens to travel between the two countries, to meet others in the same field and exchange data!!" She beamed:

"I got us two tickets to Adelheid!!! Its happening soon, we have to leave, like tonight!" Her eyes started to sparkle:
"Imagine all the cool things we can learn! We can increase our farming efficiency ten fold!

Please Violet, you have to come with me!... you'll come, won't you?" She's looking at you pleadingly.

Twilight narrowed her eyes at the envelope, trying to think of who might've sended it. As it came up inconclusive, she took the letter and headed into the bathroom. There's she checked for camera's, disabling any there were before reading the letter on the toilet.

~Who could this be from? Cadance? Why didn't she tell me in person? Maybe it's someone else. A councilor? Hmmmm... Why didn't they contact me through more regular means. A phone call would make sense. Or an email.~

You recognized Kaylee's frantic handwriting almost immediately. Sure enough, she put her name at the top of the letter:

"Twi, this is Kaylee.
I'm sorry for contacting you so unconventionally.

I'm being watched.

I think. I want to be safe. Someone is monitoring all of my phone calls. My emails, my internet activity.
Something very bad is brewing in Adelheid. I don't know what it is, but it has Councilor Mercer scared shitless. I've never seen her like this before.

She won't tell me what's wrong. And when I started digging, she stonewalled me. Then something happened and. I think someone's watching me.
I don't like it.

Twilight I'm scared. I'm currently staying in Adelheid, in the Union Council building, together with Mercer. Everyone here is a two faced snake with their own agenda. I don't know who to trust.

I have a handful of men, still loyal to me, back from the time when we served together on B-401-Bodewig. I'm sending one of them to deliver this letter to you.
Its the best way I can ensure it reaches you in secrecy.

Twilight, please. I need your help. Something very bad is brewing here. Please help me find out what it is.

If you can, go to Adelheid.

Once you land, take the underground subway, to the Union Council building. Go in the early morning. The subway will be deserted around that time.

Once you reach the underground station, under the Council Building, you'll notice an old maintenance tunnel. Go through that tunnel. You'll find a secret entrance into the Council Building there.

I will be at that entrance, at 06:00 in the morning, November 7th, to meet you.

No matter what happens, don't let anyone know what you're doing. Don't call me over the phone, to verify this data. You can't email me. You can't try to contact me, in any way that can be monitored.

Change your appearance, your clothes. Avoid crowds and proceed with outmost secrecy.

I fear that if the people watching me, realize I'm planning something, they may do something drastic.
You cannot be discovered. No matter what.

If you trust your bodyguards, take them with you. We'll need their help too. But apart from them, tell no one.

I'll be waiting for you.
06:00 in the morning, 7th of November. The underground subway station, under the Union Council Building.

Please be there.

Twilight let out a sigh, and lit up a cigarette. She knew she shouldn't have picked it up as a habit after the assault on the base, but she felt like it would give some relief to the mind.

She looked at the letter again, reading over the time and date one more time. She then slid it back into the envelope, exited the bathroom, and went to check her agenda.
"Hmmm... How fortunate, I got some spare time there."

She then steeled her gaze, watching out of the window. She let out a sigh.
~Guess everytime you get out, they'll pull you back in. Okay, now to see what I can do as preperation...~

It was one of those November mornings, when the staccato of rain slowly pulled you out of your sleep. The skies were covered with a thick layer of clouds. The people outside hurrying to enter the nearest shop or cafe.

It was just another normal morning. The work was slow lately and you realized you haven't had a good paying case in weeks. If things didn't change quickly, paying rent for this month would become a problem.

As you moved around your apartment, going through the morning routine, you heard your cellphone emit a slight ring. A text message ringtone.
You momentarily stop yourself from the preparations of coffee and check the phones display.

The following message appeared:

-Sent from: Hidden Number.

-Got a case you might be interested in.
-The pay will be good. If you crack it.
-7th November

-The square outside the Union Council building
-You might find something interesting there

-Don't be late

(Twilight Sparkle)

You heard a faint knock on the door to your hotel room and you heard Andrew's voice on the other side:

"Miss Sparkle? I have the information you requested, about the Equestrian public's opinion, regarding the Union and the possibility of leaving it.
Is it a good time to go over it now? I can come back with the data tomorrow, if you wish"

Serena pocketed the phone and finished the rest of her shift. Back at her small and rather unimpressive studio flat, Serena began to prepare for this supposed mission. Not receiving the assignment from her handler had put up a huge red flag.

This, however, was not necessarily a bad thing. With a fresh mug of herbal tea sitting on her desk, Serena took out her work phone and sent a text to her handler

-Requesting confirmation of a new dealer at the table.

(Naomi)
Naomi raised an eyebrow at the text, then shrugged and continued on with her work. She found the letter odd as mostly only the military doctors and her family knew of her vertigo and thus her reasoning for becoming a mechanic instead of a pilot.

She would have the day off on the 7th and with nothing planned decided that checking it out would be better than just doing nothing.

Dallas stared blankly at the phone, lack of caffeine affecting his eyesight; normally there would be a lot of more questions to ask the client but seeing as the rent is due this month it's not like I have a lot of options at this point, he thought as he pocketed the phone and moved to where the coffee sat waiting.

The mare frowned at the phone, nothing about this interaction was following any form of protocol. The initial assignment delivery, the response, and especially the text not being sent right away.

Before turning in for the evening Serena copied the entire contents of the phone to one of her laptops. She'd go over the phone's subroutine and other hidden data while waiting for the four days to pass. Serena had little hopes of finding anything, but luck did have a habit of just showing up.

Moon frowned and read over the letter, taking a large gulp of her drink. Then, she began packing. She took a large amount of money from her safe in the shop before getting the train down to Ponyville and then making her way to her cottage in the Everfree.
She then packed everything she needed. Clothes, hair dye, a few books for the flight, her favourite sword (which she hoped would be allowed in her suitcase), alcohol and some coloured contact lenses, as well as a few other essentials. Moon booked a hotel and then a flight to Adelheid for that day.

The trip was relatively peaceful. The customs department raised several questions at the airport, when they found a sword in the suitcase. After jumping through a lot of bureaucratic hoops and negotiating with frowny customs agents, they agreed to place the suitcase with the sword into the planes heavy baggage compartment.

Five hours later, you already landed below they gray skies of Adelheid. Autumn has firmly settled over this region, barely letting any sun through the thick cover of clouds, that still couldn't decide if they wanted to start raining or not.

After arriving at the hotel and checking in, you had time to prepare and shake off the jet lag.

Outside the hotels windows, the Unions capital city seemed quiet. Restless somehow. Millions of people busily walking in every direction, never taking a moment to stop and look around, before rushing toward their tasks.

The 7th of November has finally arrived.

You took the underground subway towards your destination. It was a little over 5 in the morning and the place really was deserted.

After roughly 40 minutes of sitting in an old, empty subway car, the subway train creaked and pulled to a stop, just under the Union Council building.

As you exit the train and step onto the subway platform, you notice the dazzling amount of old posters and news adds stuck to every inch of the walls here.

About five other people were groggily hanging around the platform here. All don't seem to be paying too much attention to their surroundings.

After another moment, you spot a long, poorly lit tunnel, at the end of the subway station.
The words 'Maintenance' were printed on a sign above it. This must be the tunnel Kaylee mentioned. According to her letter, she should be meeting you somewhere in there

As you examined the tunnel entrance, you noticed that it was sealed off with yellow tape, for official effect, but nothing to actually stop someone from coming through.

The words 'Construction' were written over the yellow tape. Yet, you don't see any signs of actual construction going on, anywhere near the tunnel or further in it.

People don't seem to be going near that place, except one figure.

A mare, by the looks of things. She was looking at the maintenance tunnel entrance as well, examining the yellow tape over it.

The longer you looked at the mare, the more she seemed familiar.

After a moment, you get a growing suspicion that this mare may be Twilight Sparkle, in disguise.

(Twilight, Arthur, Oboro)

"Of course" Andrew happily smiled and nodded: "You know where to find me. Have a good night, Princess Sparkle" he smiled and headed back towards his own room in the hotel.

In the meantime, you had time to prepare.

Dodging the official royal escort and the other political figures proved to be a bit of a challenge but you eventually managed to gracefully evade them and quietly make your way to the airport, without too much unnecessary attention.

(Dallas, Violet, Serena, Naomi)

It was around 5 in the morning, when you found yourself on the way one of Adelheid's most important districts.
The first rays of sunlight were slightly peaking through the gray cover of clouds and not many people were out on the streets yet.

A few occasional cars passed you by and the distant echo of airplanes could be heard, somewhere above, coming from the direction of the Adelheid's airport.

But the further you walked, the more you got the impression that something was going on.
The crowds became thicker and more numerous. People were excitedly talking and mostly moving in the same direction.
The more agile shop and stall owners, smelled opportunity and opened up early, advertising and selling hot fast food to the crowds passing by.

There was some sort of excitement in the air. The people walking around you, were all eagerly talking about it with anticipation. Some sort of 'Event', that was fast approaching. Something they did not want to miss and got them excited enough to get out of bed at 5 in the morning.

The police presence had also increased. You began passing more and more police patrols and chechpoints that started asking for your ID before letting you move forward.

Something was about to happen. You got that idea from the ambient noice of the people around you. And they didn't want to miss it.

Twilight had located herself at that entrance, having cloaked herself in an illusion to keep the disguise up. She looked like a random background character, having hid her horn and wings with the spell. It also came with a long jacket and hat, though not hiding enough to be insanely suspicious. She was looking at the tape, pondering about something. She also shot glances at a sleeping hobo nearby, finding something peculiar, yet familar about him.

When she noticed the other awake occupant of the area seemed very familiar, she took a glance to see what was reconizable about her.

~Hmmm, who could it be?~

Moon had disguised herself as well, having sprayed her mane sky blue and she had put green contact lenses in. She wore an old pair of jeans and a long coat, with a plain shirt underneath. A belt was around her waist, sagging down at one side. However, to someone who knew her, it would clearly be Moon. Her mane still help its waviness, and the intricate way it was held up with dozens of hairpins was a telltale sign. Also, she was sniffing the entranceway. She glanced at who she thought Twilight was, observing her quietly.
