"MADDIE I GOT THIS BEAST GO FOCUS DOWN THE SPIDER" she yells to her.

She chuckles and leans down, "mabye they should have given you better movement yes?" she taunts the centipede raising her fist and bringing it back down into its eye looking to destroy whatever is inside.

Violet sighs in dissapointment, "mabye I can find that later..." she stumbles back as the spider tank appears, "miss hacker... I assume this spider isn't you?" she reloads her weapon still fumbleing with the black powder. She growls and grabs a rock and throws it at the spider, "HAY YOU BIG HUNK OF JUNK OVER HERE!" she takes a stance.

In seconds, Serena's screen became flooded with hundreds of pages of red letter text, that just kept scrolling on and on, adding hundreds of pages, with each passing second:

New text kept scrolling on and on, adding hundreds of pages with each passing second.

The evacuation of the cave continued on, in a haphazard way. As Angelo and Radiance tried to help people escape, a large crowd of people moved all around them, making it hard to push through to those who were in need.

A lot of people were being left behind. A lot of them tried to take shelter in their makeshift tents and homes.

The sounds of dozens of rushing footsteps and panicked screams, echoed across the area, blurring together into a single massive roar.

The centipede emitted a deafening roar, so loud it almost stunned you for several moments. Rain's Armor Buster came crashing down into its broken eye again, and a series of miniature cracks echoed deep inside its head, as if a million light bulbs were shattered at the same time.

The centipede wailed and violently jerked its head, smashing it against the ground, left and right, left and right, banging its head against the ground with an eerie violent strength.

Its violent movements, sent Rain flying across the ground, several meters away. Even after she had detached from the centipede, the creature continued to contort and violently smash its own head into the earth. The wailing noises it was emitting, began turning your blood cold in your veins.

Madelyn had sprinted away from it, running toward the Spider Tank, just as the monster had broken through the meager wooden fence and rampaged toward Millers van, ignoring the rock that Violet had thrown at him.

The occupants of the area had all darted sideways, attempting to get out of the rampaging machines path.

The Spider had rammed the van and violently kicked it into the wall, turning the vehicle into a pile of  bent metal. It didn't look like anyone was inside it, at the moment of impact.

Madelyn suddenly emerged out of a cloud of dust and violently smashed her axe into the Spiders leg, making it bend out of shape and almost toppling the whole machine over.

The Spider turned, its red piercing eyes stared at Madelyn for a split second, before it suddenly lunged and bit Madelyn across the stomach.

The machines jaws bit hard into Madelyn's body, swung her around like a rag doll and tossed her into a small structure. Madelyn flew through a thin metal wall and disappeared out of sight, buried by falling debris, as the structure began to collapse over her.

In the next several moments, a brief silence had fallen over the area. And in that silence, you heard a faint cry of a child.

A small boy, was sitting in the middle of the cave, left behind somehow in the evacuation. He was staring into space with horror filled, confused eyes and crying. His wail loudly echoing across the cave.

The Spider had slowly turned its head and zeroed in on the child, then broke into a mad sprint. Its massive limbs loudly stomping through the ground, kicking up dust clouds, as the Spider charged towards the child.

You faintly saw some movement, at the edge of your vision, coming from the shed, where Madelyn was thrown into. In the dim lights, you thought you saw her body, trying to feebly move through the debris that surrounded her.

The Spider was nearing the child. Its massive jaws loudly snapping with fierce strength.
The child covered his eyes with both hands. His loud scream painfully echoed across the cave:

"MAMA!!!! MAAAMAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

A faint metalic click had echoed out of the shed, where Madelyn crashed. And at the edge of your senses, you heard her faint voice:

"Plume of Dusk Connection - Reestablished"

A massive explosion had ripped through the shed, sending debris flying. A cloud of dust suddenly materialized in a linear path and stretched towards the Spider in a split second, just as the machine had brought one of its claws down at the child.

A deafening metalic impact, had echoed across the cave, immediately followed by the sound of screeching metal, and as the dust faintly cleared, Madelyn could be seen, standing in front of the child and holding off the Spiders claw with her bare hands.

Her expression was a twisted grimace of anger. Light has returned to her eyes and she was scowling at the Spider with indescribable rage:

"Overclock Mode Activated" Madelyn muttered through gritted teeth.

An audible noise began to echo from within her body, as if a thousand gears began spinning at a maddening speed. The surface of her skin began turning red, akin to a heated metal and several thin lines of steam briefly shot out of her joints.

Madelyns grip on the claw tightened and she shrieked:

"...get away FROM HIM!!!" Her hands suddenly jerked, and ripped off the Spiders claw, right out of its limb. Then she violently hurled it at the Spiders face, sending the machine crashing back a few meters.

As the monster flailed its legs and began getting up, Madelyn had grabbed the child and sprinted away, leaving increasingly deeper footprints in the tough barren ground.

Her jacket was ripped apart, in the area of her stomach. You though you saw several deep wounds there, but there was no bleeding. Only glimpses of metal and blue colored circuitry.

The police van driver sighed and looked down: "Well.. we can't leave through the ground level.. the police have that area completely locked up. We have to find another way out of the building"

"Mister Vogel?" the girl asked, unsure, squinting at the man in the dark: "Is that.. you? You work with my father, don't you?"

The van driver released a sigh of relief and crouched down next to her: "Oh Lia, thank god. We were scared to death something had happened to you"

"..where's my dad?" Lia quietly asked.

Vogel caught a haunted, grim look in his eye and didn't answer. The darkness in the office complex obscuring most of his face.

"Mr. Vogel, where's my dad" Lia repeated, then looked at you: "I want to go see him!"

As she spoke, you could still hear the Hooded Figures' phone ringing.

"Snake, I've prepared an exfiltration route on the roof" A distorted voice answered from the other end:

"Get there, fast. I estimate the police will arrive at your position within the next 80 seconds. You can't let them reach you. They're unknowingly taking orders from someone and its not their HQ. If you are caught, it will end badly"

The voice sounded very distracted this time. Distant:

"Get to the roof asap. We'll speak again, once you're out of harms way"

From the main staircase of the building, you could vividly hear the dozens of footsteps of heavily armored men, rushing upward at an increasing pace.

Seeing the scene, she knew she would be useless in battle. However, other projects were not out of her reach. She flew over to Madelyn, as fast as she could. Not catching up though.

"Maddie! Let me take care of stragglers! You must focus on those!"

(Angelo)

He didn't enjoy being squashed between the crowd, so he tried making his way through.

"Dammit people, calm down for a moment!"

(Arnold)

He looked at the young girl, and let out a sigh.

"We will bring you to your father, but we must get out of this building first. What choices do we have? Any way to the ground is covered in misguided officers. Dare we go up?"

"Okay" Madelyn nodded quickly to Oboro. Her voice sounded natural and there was life in her eyes. She slowed down and passed the child to Oboro, then turned around and looked at the Spider again.

Madelyn's fist suddenly discharged like a projectile and flew into the shed, where she had crashed a few moments ago.

The fist grabbed hold of the axe, that was still stuck in the shed. Then, the fist quickly retracted back into Madelyn's arm, pulled along by a thin metal string.

With a loud metal clank, the fist reattached itself to her arm and Madelyn took a threatening swing with her axe. Then ducked and charged at the Spider.

Her legs moved so unnaturally fast, they began leaving dents in the ground, with each one of her steps.

Madelyn jumped, propelled forward with incredible speed and collided with the Spider Tank like a missile. A deafening impact echoed across the cave, as the Spider stumbled and fell back. The next second Madelyn swung her axe across its chest, sending the Spider crashing into the ground.

Large pieces of the Spider began falling off to the ground. One of its legs wasn't moving. Another one fell off entirely.

Madelyn readied herself for another swing, then suddenly collapsed to her knees, the axe heavily falling beside her.

Her entire body turned bright red and several dozen thin columns of steam, shot out of her joints.

"No!.. I'm overheating!.." Madelyn called in panic, unmoving and watching in horror as the Spider picked itself up and rushed towards her:

"I NEED SOME HELP! AAGH!" Madelyn screamed, as the Spider violently kicked her halfway across the cave, sending her crashing into one of the small structures nearby.

Madelyn wasn't moving, only her eyes were wide open and tracking the Spider, as thin columns of steam continued to shoot out of her body.

She was fully conscious, but something seemingly prevented her from moving around in any way.

Madelyn only helplessly watched as the Spider began charging right at her again.

Most of the civilian population had fled the cave by this point.

As you survey the area, you notice three men wearing rags and seemingly wounded. They were having trouble getting out of their tents and any sort of movement caused them visible pain.

"...wait, who's helping us on the roof?" Vogel asked wearily: "I haven't seen any more of our allies come into the building" he said, waving Lia along and making a dash to the staircase.

"THE SPIDER IS WEAKENED TAKE IT OUT!" she yells to the team. After she had been tossed to the ground she coughs a bit and gets back up. She brushed herself off before making her way to the centipede and trying to drive her fist into its belly.

Violet takes aim for the spiders big red eye and fires. Before running to the crushed van to find an extra blade.

The Spider was almost over Madelyn, when Violets weapon loudly discharged.

(Rolled 16)

The projectile struck the machine right in its red glowing eye, shattering the orb with a deafening impact and piercing the robots head.

The Spider emitted a long piercing screech and tripped over its own legs, before tumbling down in a heap, just a few inches away from Madelyn's face.

The next second, Tom's shadow had materialized over its carcass. The batpony screamed in anger, as a long blade extended out of his hand and he fell down on the robot, sending the blade deep into the monsters skull.

The Spider contorted, emitting muffled screeching noises, before its jaw slowly fell open and its whole body went limp.

Madelyn was still helplessly laying nearby. Her body glowing a hot red color and small columns of steam shooting out of her joints.
A deep wound was visible in her stomach. Only steel plates and sparking circuitry could be seen inside the wound.

As Rain approached the centipede and attempted to get close to its belly, the monster shrieked, twisting in place and wiggling its massive razor sharp legs. Each limb moved with maddening speed, its lethal sharp edge was reflecting the light with each swing.

"...-disengage and stand by" a distorted voice rang in your earpiece: "-...I am seizing direct control of the target..."

As the words echoed in your ear, the centipede suddenly seized up and emitted a long shriek. It bashed its head over the ground, one more time, before its glowing red eye turned blue.

The centipede seemingly exhaled, then turned and charged towards the far end of the cave. To one of the more poorly lit corners, empty of people.

Its countless legs carried it with frightening speed, kicking up massive dust clouds in every direction.

As it reached the far corner, it pulled an abrupt stop, then heavily crashed onto its belly and its eyes went dark.
A massive armored panel on its head, suddenly opened up and extended, revealing sensitive circuitry underneath.

And at that moment, a silhouette of a pony, dropped down from a crack in the caves ceiling. The silhouette moved with precision and grace. A shadow, moving in the darkness.
It dropped down onto the centipedes head, crouched down next to the exposed circuits and pulled out a small object from the centipedes head.

You couldn't see what it was from a distance, but it looked very small. Some sort of microchip, shining with a faint blue light in the darkness. You can't recall ever seeing a microchip like this before.

The pony's silhouette stared at the shining chip for a split second, before hiding it in its palm and making an impossible jump, back to the ceiling.
The next second, the silhouette had faded from view.

The centipedes carcass remained on the ground, unmoving. The noise of its engines and motors have ceased and a heavy silence fell over the area.

As you survey the area, most of the civilians had fled, or were fleeing the cave still. Pale and terrified, they moved as fast as their legs carried them.

As Radiance approached the people lagging behind, he could sense the smell of coagulating blood and hear their racing heartbeats. Whatever the cause of their wounds, it seems they were at least a few days old.

The slums in the cave have been turned into ruin. Small broken down houses, bent out of shape. Rubble and broken metal littered the area.

As Violet moved towards the remains of the van, it seems the vehicle was reduced to a pile of metal. Searching through the rubble may take some time.

Tomas sighed and wiped the sweat from his forehead, as the blade folded back into his arm. His eyes fell on Madelyn and he called in alarm:

"HELP! MADELYN'S INJURED!"

Madelyn had managed to slowly sit straight on the ground. The steam had stopped coming out of her body and the hot red color had faded away.

When she noticed the wound in her stomach and the circuits inside, her face went pale. She caught you looking at it and quickly covered the wound with her jacket, buttoning her clothes tight and hiding the wound from sight.

Her expression didn't suggest that she was in pain. Only deeply scared and unsettled.

The sprint to the roof proved taxing. Covering the remaining 11 floors, trying to outrun whoever was trying to catch you, had drained a considerable amount of your strength.

As you finally bust the rooftop door open and breath in the fresh air, you see a lone silhouette, standing at the edge of the roof.

It immediately drew attention to itself, appearing vividly in your view. A single dark silhouette, contrasted against the colorful sparkling lights of the city behind it.
Only from atop this skyscraper, did the full size of the city began to sink in.

Countless skyscrapers, beautiful structures and parks, stretched out in four directions, as far as the horizon.
A large blue lake, faintly sparkled in the distance, a few kilometers away. Several beaches and parks surrounded it on all sides. A few piers and small tourist boats could be seen moving about its still surface.

The shadowy silhouette on the roof drew attention to itself and stiffly waved its hand to you, calling you to come closer.

A few moments later, you realized it was a Rumba. A robot, shaped like a person. Metal plates and skeletal body. There was no question that it was a machine, similar to the ones you saw at the stock exchange lobby earlier.

The Rumba stood next to a large flag pole. A very strong rope was tied to it and stretched out above the skyscrapers, connecting your roof, to a distant skyscraper, two streets away.

The other skyscraper was lower in height. The rope that connected to it, stretched out in a downward angle.

The Rumba moved closer to you and extended its hand, revealing several metal devices, that reminded you of a steering wheel on a bicycle:

"Take this" It spoke in a distorted voice:

"Use it to travel on the rope, down to the next building. Once you make it to the other skyscraper, I'll cut the rope behind you. In the darkness, its gonna take those geniuses a quarter of an hour to figure out where you vanished to. Use the time to escape. I'll keep them busy"

The Rumba moved closer to you. Its dead, empty eyes staring at Arnold and the Hooded Figure:

"Your friends really kicked down the hornets nest. Soon, the whole city will be gunning for them. If you don't want them to die, now would be the best time rejoin them. I can no longer guarantee their safety.

I will send you their coordinates via encrypted text on your phone. In the meantime, please take an earpiece. Communication is vital to our mutual survival here
"

The Rumba extended its other hand, revealing two earpiece radios in its palm.

Madelyn slowly shifted her gaze to Serena:

"I am not a Rumba. I am a living person" she said in a quiet, firm voice.
As a deep frown formed over her face, you suddenly noted that she was talking normally and color had returned to her eyes:

"That was vulgar of you. I'm sorry your feelings were crushed and you feel worthless. I just always believed that saving lives was more important than showing off talent.

Please, take a moment to catch your breath. A dozen or so injured civilians still remain in this cave. They could use your help and medical attention, but they can wait while you get over your feelings." Madelyn quietly said and looked away.

As you look around, you still notice a few people lagging behind in the evacuation. Some were limping, possibly bruises in the attack.
Others were visibly bandaged up, signs of some old wounds.

Madelyn somewhat avoided eye contact, her sad eyes looking at the ground next to her:

"I... I'm fine... it.. doesn't hurt..." she subconsciously placed her hand over her jacket, in the place where the wound was, underneath:

She sighed and looked at you. Pale and afraid: "...what's... happening to me? I'm not supposed to be like this.. I'm a real person, I'm not a robot!" tears began to appear in her eyes.

Tomas looked at her with a pained expression, then shifted his eyes to you: "...we should let Dr. Miller take a look at her. Examine that wound.. he's knows cybernetics, maybe he can help"

"No!.." Madelyn covered her stomach with both hands, closing her eyes shut: "I don't want to! I don't want to see whats under the jacket again! Its not real! I'm not a robot!"

Mist wrote:Mist looked around, leaning back against a wall. She didn't really know what to do, except to sit back and wait for everything to happen.

Mira slowly approached and stood beside you, looking at the aftermath of the battle. After a few silent moments she said:

"...I.. can't believe this is happening. Robots of that size.. that type of model.. the public was never made aware of their existence.
To use them in such a way... this is horrible....... this isn't just about the hostages in the Council Building anymore. Its about everyone in Adelheid..

Whoever sent those creatures here... they're no friend of the Union"

Her pained expression shifted and she noticed the few civilians, still lagging behind in the evacuation. Some were carrying fresh bruises. Others, seemingly old bandaged injuries.

"..come on" Mira waved you to follow: "..lets see if we can help anyone"

(Arnold, The Hooded Figure)

Lia wearily looked down over the edge of the rooftop and quickly took a few steps back:

"...help would be.. very welcome.." she quietly mumbled, looking at the rope with terrified eyes.

Vogel came slightly closer and sighed: "...don't worry about me and Lia. Once everyone's on the other side, I have a place where we can lay low. No one will find us.

Go. Help your friends. You've done more than we can ever repay you.
Thank you. I'll never forget that" Vogel said, looking into your eyes.

Lia stretched out her hand and took hold of Arnolds palm: "..ready" she quietly mumbled and looked over the roofs edge again.

Rain laughs, "YAHAHA!" she cheers for herself mainly, "TAKE THAT YOU GIANT METAL TRASH COMPACTOR!" she looks to her arm, "god damn... This thing is awsome..." she sees the figure drop and tilts her head, "hmph..." she looks to her spear and extends it before walking over to maddie. She pulls her spear back and holds her hand out to her, "come along... We have work to do..." she gives maddie a kind smile, "I understand you are scared but we have lives to save human or not."

Violet rummages through the van until she finds at least one of the swords

(Moon)

Moon sighed "Then we can cover your eyes, you won't see a thing. But this needs to get sorted. Can't walk around with giant holes in ya." She frowned, looking around and then back down at Madelyn. " I can go get Dr Miller, if you want."

(Mist)

"Sure" Mist nodded and walked with Mira towards the other people, her hand razors sliding out of view. She seemed nervous and on edge.

(Everybody)

Madelyn looked around wearily and took Rains hand. As she began getting up, a series of loud sparking noises came from her stomach:

"AAH! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!" Madelyn screamed out in panic, staring at her jacket.

"Lets.. sit her back down, quick" Tomas called in alarm, trying to help Madelyn back to the ground: "Moon, lets get Dr. Miller in here. Tell him we need to fix a cybernetic implant" Tomas said, looking at Moon with worry.

"No!" Madelyn called and hid her face in her knees: "Miller doesn't like me.. "

"Madelyn this could be serious!" Tomas called in alarm.

"I'm not a robot" Madelyn said, still hiding her face in her knees: "...I know I'm a real person...
When that child screamed.. when he called for his mother, I remembered...
I remembered that, I have a daughter..."

Madelyn's body shook slightly and tears began to form in her eyes: "I have a daughter.
A 12 year old daughter. And she's out there, somewhere, alone, because I am not with her.."

Her voice became drowned out by faint sobs, as her whole body shook:

"..I can't remember her name!" her voice broke, as she cried, hiding her face in her knees.

Dr. Miller was sitting next to his former van and carelessly rummaging through the debris, together with Violet. His expression suggested he was in a sour mood.

After a few moments, Violet found one of the concealed swords in the rubble. It was buried under several large metal plates and seemingly took some damage.
Its unclear if the blade extending mechanism still worked, or if the straps were in any condition to firmly secure it to ones arm, but the blade itself was largely intact. Whatever metal its made from, it was sturdy. The edge still seemed sharp.

Mira and Mist had approached a small group of civilians, who sat on the ground, clutching their bruises or wounds.
Mira had scavenged a few pieces of cloth, that still seemed relatively clean and passed several of them to Mist, before she approached the wounded and tried to bandage them up, as best she could.

Her hands nervously fumbled with the cloth and it was clear she didn't have much experience with it, but she seemingly forced herself to continue.

As Mist approached, several of the wounded looked at her with wide open eyes and gave a small smile:
"...thank you, for what you're doing here... many didn't care about us... many preferred if we stayed out of sight, forgotten. But you came here... you're helping... it.. means a lot" one of the wounded men smiled.

It seems he had a broken leg. No visible wound, but he couldn't properly walk. It seems he would need a small wooden plank or a straight piece of metal, to bandage it over his leg, so the fracture would heal properly.
